17th LS first session likely to start from June 06

With the new government at the Centre, the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha is likely to start from June 06 till June 15.

According to sources, it is only on May 31that the dates are expected to be finalised, during the first meeting of thenewly formed Cabinet, which will swear in on May 30.

The President of India will address the joint sitting of the two houses of Parliament on June 06, the first day of the session during which a pro-tem speaker of the Lok Sabha will also be appointed.

Sources have informed thatthe pro-tem speaker will administer the oath of office to all the newly electedMPs before the speaker's election which is likely to take place on June 10.

According to an official communique, President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the PM and other members of the Union council of ministers during a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 30 at 7 pm.
