43 dead in Delhi factory fire

As many as 43 people have died after a fire broke out at a factory in Anaj Mandi in Delhi on Sunday morning. The death toll is likely to increase, informed Delhi Police sources. Also, 50 people were rushed to the hospital following the incident.

Meanwhile,20 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire and to carry outrescue operations.

"Afire broke out in a 600 sq feet plot. It was very dark inside. It is a factorywhere school bags, bottles and other materials were kept," Deputy Fire ChiefOfficer Sunil Choudhary was quoted as saying by ANI. "We have so far sent 15people to the LNJP hospital for medical aid. While some of them were injured,others had fainted. The owner said that around 20-25 labourers were sleepinginside when the incident happened," he added.

The rescueoperations are currently underway.
