All you need to know about Chandrayaan-2 Mission

India's second moon mission Chandrayaan-2 will belaunched on Sunday midnight. The indigenous moon mission will carry an orbiter,a lander and rover.

According to reports, India's powerful rocket launcher, Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark 3 (GSLV Mk-III), will carry the 2.4-tonne orbiter. Interestingly, GSLV Mk-III is referred to as 'Baahubali'.

After its lift-off from Sriharikota Chandrayaan-2mission will head close to the South Pole of the Moon for a soft landing.

Chandrayaan-2 will be launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on July 15 at 2:51 am. The satellite is likely to land on the Moon in about 50 days on September 6 or 7. With the mission, India will continue its search for water on the lunar surface. It is a robotic mission and will carry no human beings to the moon surface.

India will become the fourth country to soft-land on the moon after the US, Russia and China.
