In an encounter between the security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian, five terrorists have been taken down on Sunday.

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S. P. Vaid said, "Encounter concluded at Badigam, Zainpora in Shopian, 5 bodies of terrorists recovered."

The encounter occurred during a combing and search operation carried out by the security forces in that area.

On Saturday, in another encounter three terrorists were killed and three security personnel were injured in Chattabal area of Srinagar.
