‘Attempts made to mislead voters’: Sonia

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday lashed out at BharatiyaJanata Party for making attempts to mislead voters in the Lok Sabha elections.

While addressing public andpartymen at a 'thanksgiving' programme in Rae Bareli constituency on WednesdaySonia Gandhi said, "As all of you have seen and some of you pointed out here,attempts were made to mislead voters in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. You all andthe whole country understand whether what happened (in polls) was ethical orunethical… but nothing can be more unfortunate for India than crossing all thenorms to cling on to power."

It may be mentioned here that media was not allowed at the programme. But some party workers shared few video clips of her speech.

Sonia Gandhi questioned over the fairness of electoral process. Sheadded, "Doubts were being raised about India's electoral process for past fewyears. There is an old saying there is no smoke without fire."

Sonia was accompanied by her daughter and General Secretary of AICC in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on her visit to constituency.
