Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Arrives India on 4-day visit

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived New Delhi on Thursday on a four-day official visit. She visited the country at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and during her visit, a number of agreements are to be exchanged between the two sides.

This willbe the second meeting of the two leaders following their earlier meeting on thesidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 27.

Accordingto reports, during her interaction with the Indian Prime Minister, Hasina islikely to raise the Teesta water-sharing agreement and sharing of waters ofother common rivers during their talks on October 5 here.

Aframework for water-sharing of eight rivers may also be signed. The riversinclude the Manu, Muhuri, Khowai, Feni, Gumti, Dharla, Dudhkumar and possiblyTeesta.

Boththe countries share as many as 54 common rivers among them.

Reportsalso say that from the Bangladeshi point of view, the Rohingya crisis and theNational Register of Citizens of India may also feature prominently in thetalks.
