‘Chowkidar’ goes off Twitter

Aftertrend showed a big win for BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday removedthe prefix 'Chowkidar' from his Twitter handle. The PM further urged all othersto do the same.

"Now,the time has come to take the Chowkidar Spirit to the next level. Keep thisspirit alive at every moment and continue working for India's progress. Theword 'Chowkidar' goes from my Twitter name but it remains an integral part ofme. Urging you all to do the same too!" the PM tweeted this evening.

However, he reiterated that the word is removed to take the spirit of Chowkidar to the next level as it should encourage India to work for the country' progress.

Notably, BJP had started the 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign to counter Congress' 'Chowkidar Chor Hain' campaign to attack Modi on the Rafale deal.
