COVID-19 cases in India rise to 12,759

The HealthMinistry on Thursday reported that the total number of COVID-19 cases in Indiahas reached 12,759. India currently has 10,824 active cases and 1514 dischargedand cured cases.

TheHealth Ministry has further confirmed that 420 people have died from thedisease across the country till Thursday and Maharashtra alone has reported 187deaths.

Meanwhile,34 people were detected positive for COVID-19 in Assam, which is theworst-affected States in the region. Six corona cases were confirmed fromMeghalaya, two each from Manipur and Tripura and one from Arunachal Pradesh.Nagaland remains free from coronavirus till date, informed the Ministry.
