Grenade hurled at Pulwama Polling Station

In violence during polling for the Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, a group of militants hurled a grenade towards a polling station on Monday.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at Rohmoo polling station in Pulwama, however, there were no casualties in the blast.

Police has informed that the area has been cordoned off by the security forces.

This was the first militant attack on a polling station in this Lok Sabha election in Jammu and Kashmir.

It may be noted that polling is being held in Pulwama and Shopian districts of the aforementioned constituency which also includes Anantnag and Kulgam districts as well.

Contesting for the seat, there are 18 candidates in fray including PDP president and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti.
