One more killed by a mob, 35th in six months

Barely 24 hours after social media giant WhatsApp had limited the forwarded messages to only five chats at once, report of another person killed by a mob has come to light taking the overall death toll to 35 in the last six months across the nation.

The man had been allegedly beaten to death by a mob on Friday night on suspicion of cow smuggling.

The incident took place in Lalawandi village of Ramgarh district, said police .

The deceased has been identified as Akbar Khan, who was a resident of Haryana's Kolgaon. According to reports, the man was transporting two cows, which were later taken to a cow shelter.

Police have taken the deceased's body for postmortem and further investigation is underway.
