PM Modi chairs National Security Council meeting

Amid the prevailing tension between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening chaired a high-level meeting of the National Security Council at his official residence.

According to reports, the meeting was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi slammed opposition parties for questioning the airstrike by Indian Air Force (IAF) in Pakistan targeting the Jaish-e Mohammad (JeM) terror camps at Balakot.
