PM Modi greets soldiers on Army Day

On the occasion of Army Day today, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi greeted the Indian soldiers and said that the country is proud of their bravery and courage. Modi he bows to their indomitable grit and determination of Indian Army.

The Prime Minister also greeted Army ex-servicemen and their families on occasion of Army Day.

Modi tweeted :

On 15 January every year Army Day is celebrated in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.
