PM Modi receives Seoul Peace Prize

PM Narendra Modi was awarded with the Seoul peace prize 2018 on his two-day visit to South Korea. Modi received the prestigious Prize for his contribution to international cooperation and fostering global economic growth.

A short film on the life and achievements of Prime Minister Modi was also screened at the event. Modi was selected after candidates proposed over 1300 nominators from around the world. Former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan was the recipient of the honour in 1999.

The Seoul Peace Prize was established in 1990 to commemorate the success of the 24th Olympic Games held in Seoul. The award was established to crystalise Korean people's yearning for peace on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of the world.
