Rajnath lends shoulder to CRPF jawan’s mortal remains

Pratidin Bureau

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who reached Jammu and Kashmir on Friday afternoon, lent a shoulder to mortal remains of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier in Budgam. Rajnath along with J&K DGP Dilbag Singh turned pallbearers for one of the CRPF soldiers.

Prior to that, the Union Minister took part in the wreath-laying ceremony on the bodies of the troopers at a CRPF camp in Budgam district.

Rajnath will also review the overall security in Jammu and Kashmir in the aftermath of the suicide attack by the Pakistan-based terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), where 44 CRPF jawans were martyred.

Earlier, Singh said that the government will "undertake whatever it takes to avenge this".
