Sonia invites opposition parties for post-poll meeting

With onlya few days left for the Lok Sabha Election results to come out, the UniteProgressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi has made strategic move oftrying to unite the Opposition parties. She reportedly started calling up theleaders enquiring about their availability in Delhi after the last phase of LSpolls.

According to reports, the former chief of the Congress party has called for a meeting of leaders of several opposition parties at New Delhi on May 23, the day of Lok Saba polls results. The DMK on Thursday confirmed that party president MK Stalin had received an invite for the meeting.

Reports also suggested that the name of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao also figures in the list of leaders invited by Sonia Gandhi. Notably, Rao has taken an initiative to form a non-BJP, non-Congress 'Federal Front' comprising of regional parties.
