South Korean President pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat

South Korean President Moon Jae-in along with his wife Kim Jung-sook and accompanied by Minister of State for External Affairs General VK Singh had visited Rajghat on Tuesday to pay floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

After paying homage, President Moon was presented with a bust of Mahatma Gandhi.

Later, Moon met his Indian counterpart Ram Nath Kovind and his wife, Savita Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-ranking officials.

The official lunch had been scheduled to take place at Hyderabad House after some talks. The two leaders will also address the India-South Korea CEOs roundtable towards the later part of the day.

President Moon had arrived in India on Sunday for a three-day visit. This is his first ever state-visit to the country after being sworn in as President.

A number of agreements are expected to be signed with the South Korean delegation, which comprises of senior members of the cabinet, officials as well as industry captains.
