Asian Games Update: Day 9 review

On the 9th day of the Asian Games 2018, Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra made the history by clinching a gold medal in the javelin throw event. This is the first ever gold medal for India at the Asiad Games in the javelin throw. India had never won gold in the javelin throw at the Asiad but Neeraj Chopra, changed the statistics on Monday. Neeraj Chopra dedicated his victory to the late PM of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Indian players Neena Varakil (Women's long jump, Dharun Ayyasamy (Men's 400m hurdle) and Sudha Singh (3,000M Steeplechase Event) along with Neeraj Chopra (Javelin throw event) made the nation feel proud by clinching a bunch of medals.

In Badminton, ace shuttler Saina Nehwal bagged a bronze medal in women's singles event and in the second semi-final PV Sindhu registered a thumping victory and stormed into the finals assuring silver.
