India appointed as host for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2020

FIFA has appointed India as host for the Under-17 Women's Football World Cup to be held in 2020.

The decision for the upcoming youth tournaments was taken at the ninth meeting of the FIFA Council held in Miami, USA on Friday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, President of International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino said, FIFA is delighted to announce that India has been confirmed as the host of the Women's World Cup.

It may be noted that this will be the second FIFA tournament that India will be hosting, the first being the U-17 Men's World Cup in 2017.
