Royal Enfield launches motorcycle based on World War II era in UK

Royal Enfield on May 22 launched a new limited-edition motorcycle inspired by a World War II bike used by British paratroopers in Cambridgeshire.

The motorcycle – Classic 500 Pegasus – shall see production of 1,000 units, out of which 190 units will be available in Britain.

As per reports, the Pegasus will be open for online booking from July at a price tag of £ 4,999 (around Rs 4,55,000).

Royal Enfield CEO Siddhartha Lal described the motorcycle as a homage to legendary war stories.

It may be mentioned here that Royal Enfield produced munitions, artillery equipment and motorcycles during both World Wars and continues to supply the Indian armed forces with motorcycles even today.
