In a significant move aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and holding the government accountable, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Sunday launched a new digital public service platform titled ‘ASSAM JUSTICE’. The online portal, accessible at www.assamjustice.com, is designed to allow people across the state to submit their grievances related to public services and governance.
The launch event took place at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati and was attended by Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia, APCC working president and MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar, senior leaders Diganta Barman, Wazed Ali Choudhury, Aftabuddin Mollah, APCC Mahila Congress president Mira Barthakur, senior spokesperson Rituparna Konwar, and other party members.
Speaking at the inauguration, Debabrata Saikia said the initiative is a part of the party’s commitment to promote social justice and democratic accountability. "The objective of this platform is to establish a stronger connection with the public, collect their grievances, and present them to the authorities for proper redressal," Saikia stated.
He further added that the inspiration behind the platform stems from the ideals of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, with a vision to empower the common people of Assam. The portal will serve as a digital interface for citizens to voice issues concerning local governance, public health, education, road conditions, sanitation, and other public welfare concerns.
“This is not merely a complaint portal but a political initiative to build pressure on the government to act responsibly. Through ASSAM JUSTICE, we aim to amplify people’s voices and bridge the gap between the administration and the citizens,” Saikia said.
The Congress party assured that all complaints submitted through the portal would be promptly forwarded to the concerned departments. Additionally, the party would follow up to ensure that appropriate action is taken. Special emphasis will be placed on highlighting irregularities in the Panchayati Raj system and exposing failures in public service delivery.
Positioned as a platform for transparency and accountability, ASSAM JUSTICE seeks to become a public forum where voices from across the state—especially from rural and underrepresented communities—can be heard.
With the tagline “Your Voice, Your Right”, the Congress hopes the platform will emerge as a powerful tool for citizens to seek justice and bring about change through collective action.
