According to police sources, the arrested individuals are all residents of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, which is how the gang got its name 'TC Gang' (short for Tiruchirappalli). The arrested gang members have been identified as Vishal Naidu, Kadirvel Aramangam Naidu, Shankar Naidu, Karthi Aramangam Naidu, and Byaktesh Moranna Naidu.

The gang had reportedly carried out thefts in several prominent localities including Beltola, Basistha, and other parts of Guwahati. They reportedly broke car glasses, stole cash and valuables, and fled the scene before being noticed.

In a recent incident in Maligaon, the gang was caught red-handed while attempting to steal from a vehicle using bamboo sticks to break the glass. Acting swiftly, Basistha Police arrested all five members of the gang on the spot.

Police officials stated that the TC Gang has been active not just in Assam but across major cities in India, hinting at a larger criminal network. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain if other members of the gang are still at large and to determine the full extent of their operations in the region.
