The discussion centered around a plan to promote large-scale commercial potato cultivation under a community development project in the Chief Minister’s constituency. The initiative seeks to empower farmers in villages such as Jizina village in Biswanath Chari Ali by making them self-reliant through contract-based potato farming.

PepsiCo India presented its contract farming model during the meeting, which includes comprehensive support for farmers. Under this model, the company will provide high-quality potato seeds, training on modern farming techniques, and will also procure the harvested produce directly from farmers, ensuring both market linkage and price assurance.
