One Held with Rs 4.06 Lakh Fake Notes in Guwahati's Dakhingaon

Guwahati Police on Sunday busted a fake currency racket operating out of Dakhingaon and seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth over Rs 4.06 lakh.

Based on credible input, a team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Bhagaduttapur Police Outpost under Dispur PS jurisdiction conducted a meticulously planned search operation at Dakhingaon, near Burha Masjid and Madrasa area. During the operation, the police recovered and seized suspected FICN amounting to Rs 4,06,500, along with a Redmi 12 mobile phone believed to have been used in coordinating the illegal activities.

One person has been apprehended in connection with the case. 

The accused has been identified as Chatu Paul (27), Resident of Paulpara, Ward No. 9, Bongaigaon town, Assam.

Police officials confirmed that Paul was apprehended on the spot and has been taken into custody for further interrogation and legal action.
