RGU Signs MoU with CRPF, Launches Scholarships for Their Wards

Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to provide dedicated scholarship opportunities for the wards of CRPF personnel.

The MoU was formally signed on Monday by Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Singh, Registrar (Academics) of RGU, and Mrs. Soma Mukherjee, President of R/CWA, GC, CRPF Guwahati. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Manas Ranjan, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF, along with senior officials from both RGU and CRPF.

As part of this initiative, RGU has launched two exclusive scholarship categories:

Royal Shaurya: A 100% tuition fee waiver for the children of CRPF martyrs and gallantry award recipients.

Royal Suraksha: A 50% tuition fee support for wards of serving CRPF personnel.

“These scholarships will be applicable to academic programmes governed by statutory bodies such as AICTE, COA, PCI, INC, ANMHVC, BCI, and others,” said Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Singh. “It is a small but sincere way to honour the dedication of those who serve and protect the nation.”

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Manas Ranjan lauded RGU’s noble initiative, highlighting that frequent transfers and operational postings often disrupt the academic continuity of security personnel’s children. “This partnership will offer both relief and opportunity for the families who serve on the frontlines,” he remarked.

RGU’s commitment to inclusive education is further reflected in its wide array of scholarships offered across various categories. Mr. Utpal Kanta, Director of Growth and Strategy at RGU, noted that the university has long supported students from diverse backgrounds through several flagship scholarship programmes.

Among them:

Royal Merit on Admission Scholarship: Offers 100% waiver on annual tuition, admission, and registration fees to top-performing students at the time of admission.

Royal Scholarship for EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): Provides full financial support to students from economically underprivileged backgrounds.

Royal Endowment Scholarship: Available across all academic programmes, this scholarship supports students excelling in sports, music, or fine arts; differently abled students; children or grandchildren of Padma Awardees or recipients of Assam Baibhav, Saurav, and Gaurav Awards; students raised by single mothers; and students from families earning less than Rs 8 lakh annually.

Scholarships for International Students: Tailored for candidates from neighboring countries, reinforcing RGU’s regional and international academic ties.

RGU Sports Scholarship: A multi-tiered scholarship offering up to 100% tuition fee waivers based on athletic achievements at the international, national, state, and district levels. In addition to financial support, the scholarship also emphasizes professional coaching and mentorship.

Monthly Scholarship for Semester Toppers: To promote academic excellence, RGU awards a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 to students who top their respective semesters across disciplines.
