Zubeen Garg Tribute: Fancy Bazar Dedicates Diwali with Diyas, No Fireworks

In a heartfelt tribute to late music icon Zubeen Garg, this year’s Diwali celebrations in Fancy Bazar will be dedicated entirely to his memory. Unlike previous years, there will be no grandeur, decorative lighting, or fireworks in the area.

The Fancy Bazar Friends Club has announced that they will forgo all festive extravagance as a mark of respect for Zubeen Garg. Instead, thousands of earthen lamps (diyas) will be lit across Fancy Bazar in his name on Diwali night.

The organisers stated that not a single building in Fancy Bazar will display flashy lights this year, nor will there be any fireworks. The celebration will be a silent and emotional tribute to Zubeen Garg, whose music touched millions across Assam and beyond.

The initiative has already received wide emotional support from residents, who say this Diwali will be dedicated not to celebration, but to remembrance.
