APDCL Submits Proposal For Hike In Electricity Prices By ₹2

Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) submitted a proposal to the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC) regarding it.

The monthly per-unit cost of electricity is expected to be hiked by ₹2 in the state in a fresh blow to consumers amid rampant inflation.

The common people will have to bear the burden of the price rise of electricity per unit as the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) submitted a proposal to the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC) regarding it.

Awaiting approval from the AERC, the hiked prices are expected to come into effect from the New Year, adding to the woes of the common people.

Notably, the current per-unit cost of electricity in the state, as set by the AERC is, for connections above 5kW load, it is ₹7.25 per unit, while for connections below that, the cost is divided as for the first 120 units consumed, it is charged at ₹5.4 per unit. For 120-240 units, ₹6.65 and above 240 units, it is ₹7.65 per unit.
