Another case of physical assault on a doctor has been reported today in Assam.
According to reports, the incident took place at Majuligarh Tea Estate in Biswanath district where a group of mob attacked the doctor.
The victim has been identified as Dr Basanta Kumar Goswami of Biswanath.
The doctor has been reportedly admitted to the Biswanath Civil Hospital.
Few weeks earlier, Assam had reported a couple of cases of physical assaults on medical officers at different places of the state.
At Hojai's Fultali Hospital on June 3rd, Dr Seuj Kumar Senapati was attacked by a large group of people after the death of a Covid-19 patient. However, the medical staffs of the hospital clarified that the patient was already dead by the time he was brought to the hospital.
On another similar incident, two individuals had allegedly assaulted a government doctor on duty after a relative died at Hailakandi SK Roy Civil Hospital on June 4th. The patient was brought to the hospital at a very critical condition.
