One of the prime accused in a rape case has been arrested by Dibrugarh police on Monday, the identity of whom was not revealed.

As per a report, the incident occurred when a girl on her way to the college was allegedly gangraped. The accused later threatened her of dire consequences if she tells it to anybody.

According to the victim, one Aryan Das, who studied at the same institution as the victim, came to her home to pick her up for college. While they were on their way, Das told that the scooty in which they were riding, broke down.

When they stopped near the road, one Pabitra Hazarika, who is Aryan's brother-in-law, offered them a lift to college, to which the girl agreed.

After some time, Aryan complained of a headache and wanted to eat something. Pabitra then offered him juice and also gave one packet to the girl. After she drank the juice, the victim lost her senses.

As the girl came back to her senses, she found herself lying naked on a bed. Her uniform was kept on the side of the bed.

Later, the accused threatened her not to say anything or else her parents and herself would be harmed. When she threatened to complain against them to the police the accused laughed and said that they were rich and would be able to free themselves with money.

After some days of the incident, the victim one day received a call from one of her friend and after talking to him she felt something unusual.

After checking the number it was found that the number belonged to one Debojit Das, who was from same village. Das allegedly blackmailed her to spend a day with him or else he would put her naked photos over social media.

"At first I thought of complaining then I was afraid that the people will harm my family but later I went to the police and said everything," said the victim.

She also alleged that even after one week of filing the complaint, no action was taken by the police. Even now not all the accused have been arrested.
