Suspended Congress MLA Sherman Ali's bail plea has been rejected by Gauhati High Court.
Two cases were registered against him in Geetanagar and Panbazar police station.
He was arrested on sedition charges over his provocative remarks against martyrs of Assam agitation.
Ali was earlier suspended from the Congress party. The party blamed him of fueling to BJP's alleged 'politics of polarization' by making controversial statements often.
Ali has also moved the special judges' court seeking bail in the case registered against him by the CM Vigilance cell for alleged MLA fund embezzlement.
