CM Sarma Reviews Orunodoi 3.0, Udyamita Abhijan in Udalguri
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting during his visit to Udalguri district to assess the implementation and progress of key welfare and development initiatives. The meeting, held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, saw the participation of top officials and elected representatives from the region.
The Chief Minister reviewed flagship state schemes such as Orunodoi 3.0, Mukhya Mantrir Mahila Udyamita Abhijan, Mukhya Mantrir Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan, and Eti Koli Duti Paat, stressing on their effective and timely execution. He directed the district administration to ensure last-mile connectivity, maximise awareness, and bring every eligible beneficiary under the ambit of these welfare programmes.
Reviewing the Orunodoi 3.0 scheme, Dr. Sarma noted that while the number of existing beneficiaries in Udalguri stood at 58,000, the new phase aims to expand coverage to 1.17 lakh families. He instructed officials to ensure that all rightful beneficiaries are identified and included without delay.
Regarding the Mukhya Mantrir Mahila Udyamita Scheme, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs. Under this scheme, women's Self-Help Group (SHG) members will receive financial assistance in three phases:

₹10,000 seed capital in the first year,

₹25,000 in the second year (split into ₹12,500 interest-free loan and ₹12,500 subsidy), and
-
₹50,000 in the third year for business expansion.
With 1.7 lakh women beneficiaries identified across Assam, Dr. Sarma asked the district officials to ensure effective outreach and support mechanisms.
Turning to the Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan, Dr. Sarma said that 2,500 youth from Udalguri will benefit from the scheme, with each eligible individual receiving ₹2 lakh in support to start entrepreneurial ventures. He urged the administration to take all preparatory steps to implement the scheme without delay.
The Chief Minister also took stock of the Eti Koli Duti Paat initiative, which aligns with the 200-year celebrations of Assam's tea industry. Under this scheme, a one-time payment of ₹5,000 will be provided to each Class III and IV permanent and temporary tea garden worker. Dr. Sarma instructed the Deputy Commissioner to compile accurate data on eligible workers and ensure proportional distribution of beneficiaries across Udalguri, Bhergaon, Tangla, and Majbat.
Senior government functionaries present at the meeting included Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Minister Pijush Hazarika, MP Dilip Saikia, Deputy CEM of BTC Gobindo Basumatary, MLA Charan Boro, Principal Secretary of BTR Akashdeep, and DC Pulak Patgiri, among others.
Later in the day, Dr. Sarma also met representatives from various community and student organisations at the Udalguri Circuit House, including AKRSU, All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, All Bathou Mahasabha, All Adivasi Students’ Association, and the Assam Rabha Students’ Union. The Chief Minister heard their concerns and assured them that the government would take appropriate action to address their issues.
