During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma sought the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' (MoRTH) support to ensure the timely execution of ongoing national highway projects. These infrastructure initiatives are expected to significantly improve regional connectivity, enhance trade corridors, and accelerate economic growth across the Northeast.

The Union Minister assured full cooperation from MoRTH and emphasised the Centre’s commitment to the time-bound implementation of these flagship projects. In a post on X, Sarma wrote: “In New Delhi today, I had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji. We reviewed the progress of Assam’s flagship infra projects and sought @MORTHIndia's cooperation in their time-bound completion. Hon’ble Minister has assured us of the Ministry’s undivided focus on this matter.”

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister also held discussions with a delegation from the ICICI Foundation and ICICI Bank, focusing on ongoing CSR initiatives in Assam. The discussions revolved around expanding and diversifying CSR efforts in partnership with the state government, with a particular emphasis on improving credit access for micro borrowers and empowering grassroots entrepreneurship.

In a separate meeting, Jayesh Saini, Chairman of LifeCare Ltd, also called on the Chief Minister to discuss the company’s plans to invest in Assam’s healthcare sector. LifeCare, a Kenya-based healthcare firm, had signed an MoU during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit held in Guwahati in February. The meeting focused on fast-tracking the company's projects and strengthening the state's rapidly evolving health infrastructure.
