Japanese Encephalitis claimed one more life in Rangia. The person identified as Tajir Ali of Kaniha village was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Guwahati and died on Wednesday. Earlier, Japanese Encephalitis has killed two people from Rangiya in Kamrup Rural named Basun Kalita and Dhuhir Imdad Hussain.
The disease has spread to almost every district of the state killing around more than 50 people.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, however, earlier announced the cancellation of leaves of all doctors till September 30 in order to combat the disease.
The Minister said that leave in emergency cases can only be allowed by the deputy commissioner.
