Son Reveals Murder Plot, Mother and Lover Held for Father’s Death

A chilling crime from Rajasthan’s Alwar district has come to light, where a nine-year-old boy became the sole eyewitness to his father’s murder, a case disturbingly reminiscent of the recent Meghalaya honeymoon killing that captured national attention.

The incident occurred on June 7 in the Kherli area. The victim, 40-year-old Veeru, also known as Man Singh Jatav, was initially believed to have died due to a sudden health condition. His wife, Anita, told relatives and neighbours that he had passed away in his sleep. However, two days later, her young son recounted a harrowing version of events that revealed the brutal truth of what happened that night.

According to the child, Anita had deliberately left the main gate unlatched. Around midnight, five men, including someone he recognised as “Kashi Uncle”, entered the house. “Kashi Uncle,” later identified as Kashiram Prajapat, a local street food vendor, is reportedly Anita’s lover.

“I had just dozed off when I heard the gate creak. I saw my mother open it. Kashi Uncle and four others came in quietly. I got scared and stayed still. I saw them enter the room where my father was sleeping. My mother stood by the bed while they attacked him. Kashi Uncle smothered him with a pillow. I tried to reach my father, but Kashi Uncle picked me up, scolded me, and told me to stay quiet,” the child told police and media.

He added, “My mother didn’t say anything. She just stood there, watching them beat him and twist his limbs.”

Police later confirmed that Veeru had been assaulted and suffocated. The postmortem revealed signs of physical violence, including bruises, a broken tooth, and evidence of strangulation, contradicting Anita’s claim of a natural death.

Investigators believe the murder was the result of an extramarital affair between Anita and Kashiram. The pair allegedly paid ₹2 lakh to four men to carry out the killing. On the night of the murder, the group arrived on motorcycles and entered the home while Veeru was asleep.

The following morning, Anita continued to claim that her husband had died of a heart attack. However, Veeru’s elder brother, Gabbar Jatav, grew suspicious and lodged a police complaint. Authorities reviewed more than 100 CCTV recordings and phone call data, which ultimately led to the identification of the suspects.

So far, three individuals have been arrested: Anita, Kashiram, and one of the contract killers, Brijesh Jatav. A search is underway for the remaining accused.

Police revealed that Anita and Veeru were both in their second marriage and had initially fallen in love before tying the knot. Anita ran a local general store, where Kashiram was a frequent customer. Their repeated interactions reportedly led to a romantic relationship that ultimately turned into a murder conspiracy.

The case has drawn parallels to the recent Meghalaya killing, where Sonam Raghuvanshi allegedly plotted her husband’s murder during their honeymoon, involving her lover and hired assassins.

But unlike the Meghalaya case, this time, a child witnessed the entire crime, a young boy who not only lost his father but also found the courage to speak the truth, becoming the key to uncovering a deeply disturbing act of betrayal.
