Assam's Rimpi Buragohain Wins Second Gold at World Police Meet
Assam’s star athlete Rimpi Buragohain has once again made the state and the nation proud by securing her second gold medal at the World Police and Fire Games 2025, currently underway in Birmingham, Alabama from June 27 to July 6.
Competing on behalf of the Assam Rifles, Rimpi added the triple jump gold to her tally, following her earlier victory in the long jump, achieving a remarkable double on the international stage.
Earlier in the Games, Buragohain clinched gold in the long jump, outperforming a strong field of international athletes and earning top honours for India.
Prior to this international feat, Buragohain had already made her mark at the national level. At the All India Police Athletics Championship, she clinched the gold medal with a remarkable jump of 6.34 metres — setting a new record in the event.
Her achievements not only highlight her personal excellence but also stand as a proud moment for Indian police athletes competing at an international level.
