The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has brought pride to the nation with a stellar performance at the World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in Birmingham, USA, from June 30 to July 6. Competing among more than 10,000 athletes from over 70 countries, CISF athletes stood out, clinching an impressive total of 64 medals, significantly contributing to India’s overall third-place finish in the global medal tally.
India secured a whopping 560 medals, thanks in no small part to the grit and glory of the CISF contingent, whose dedication and athletic prowess were on full display throughout the international event.
In wrestling, CISF wrestlers from Haryana delivered a clean sweep, bagging all the gold medals in their category. Outstanding performances were registered by Sunny Kumar, Ajay Dagar, Harish, Mohit, and Abhimanyu, who showcased dominance on the mat and reinforced India’s strength in the sport.
Among the highlights of the tournament was the extraordinary performance by Assistant Sub-Inspector Reenu, who emerged as a star in the athletics segment. Representing CISF, Reenu struck gold in multiple long-distance events, including the 10 km cross-country, 5,000 metres, 10,000 metres, half marathon, and the team half marathon. She also added a silver medal in the 1,500 metres to her tally, underlining her versatility and endurance.
The CISF team comprised athletes from various corners of the country, symbolizing the unity, strength, and inclusive spirit of the force. Their triumph at such a high-calibre international platform not only showcased individual excellence but also the collective resilience, discipline, and commitment to fitness that the CISF stands for.
As one of India's premier Central Armed Police Forces, CISF has long emphasized the importance of physical training and sportsmanship. Its success at the 2025 World Police and Fire Games is a testament to this vision and the rigorous training culture embedded within the force.
The World Police and Fire Games is among the largest global sporting events for police and firefighting personnel, promoting camaraderie, athletic excellence, and international cooperation. This year’s edition was no exception, drawing participants from across the world to compete in a wide range of disciplines.
