'Hindus Would Throw Pork, Not Beef': Assam CM Hits Back at Congress Allegations

Reacting sharply, CM Sarma told reporters, “Hindus wont throw beef. If they had to send a message, they would throw pork. If Congress is saying a cow’s head was left by Hindu people, then where is the rest of the meat? Are they suggesting we ate it?”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has lashed out at the Congress party for accusing BJP-RSS of placing cow meat outside temples, saying that Hindus would never throw beef and if they ever intended to provoke, they would have used pork instead.

The Chief Minister’s remarks came after Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi accused BJP and RSS workers of being behind recent incidents where cow remains were found near temples in various districts. Gogoi made the claim during a party event in Mangaldai, accusing the ruling party of trying to create communal tension to hold onto power.

Reacting sharply, CM Sarma told reporters, “Hindus wont throw beef. If they had to send a message, they would throw pork. If Congress is saying a cow’s head was left by Hindu people, then where is the rest of the meat? Are they suggesting we ate it?”

Over the last week, incidents involving cow remains have been reported in several parts of Assam, including Dhubri, Hojai, Sribhumi, Goalpara, Kamrup Metro, and Lakhimpur. Police have so far arrested more than 50 people in connection with the cases.

While many members of the local Muslim community and religious leaders have condemned the incidents, political tensions continue to rise. The opposition, however, remains firm on its accusations.

Further slamming the Congress, CM Sarma added, “This is exactly why Hindus across the country hate Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party.”
