Ratul told police that the victim, namely Bandana Das, would regularly scold and verbally abuse him and his family. He said she often used harsh words, even towards his young child, which had been troubling him for a long time.

On the night of the murder, Ratul had consumed alcohol and returned to the house angry and upset. In a fit of rage, he lost control and strangled her and then slit her throat with a pair of scissors, according to his chilling confession given to the police.

The police interrogation revealed disturbing details of the crime, with Ratul giving an account of the events leading up to the murder.  More details awaited.

Earlier yesterday morning, the body of 69-year-old Bandana Das was found inside a room of her residence. The room's door was found open, prompting investigators to consider the possible involvement of someone known to the victim.

In connection with the case, police detained two individuals — Kunjalata Das and Ratul Das — who had been assigned to care for the woman. Ratul later confessed to the crime.
