Rahul Hazarika, a journalist associated with Pratidin Digital, has been selected for the prestigious media fellowship offered by Aaranyak, one of India’s leading biodiversity conservation organisations. The fellowship focuses on the theme “Nature, People, and Livelihood”, aiming to encourage young journalists to report on pressing environmental issues.
A total of eight journalists have been chosen for this year’s fellowship. Each fellow will receive financial support of Rs 40,000 to pursue in-depth field reporting on environment and biodiversity-related subjects.
In addition to the grant, the selected fellows will undergo orientation and receive mentorship from senior professionals in the media industry. Aaranyak will also provide local guides to assist the journalists during their field assignments, ensuring ground-level access and insights.
Rahul Hazarika has been actively working for Pratidin Digital over the past year, covering a wide range of topics including politics, society, and on-ground reportage.
