Woman Found Hanging Inside House in Guwahati’s Pandu

A woman allagedly died by suicide at her residence in Guwahati’s Pandu area on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Daisy Das. According to initial reports, her body was found hanging early in the morning inside her room.

The Jalukbari police reached the scene soon after receiving the information and recovered the body, which has been sent for post-mortem.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding her death.

In a separate but equally tragic case reported earlier in the day from Kahilipara’s Kalyani Nagar locality, a young couple’s live-in relationship came to a devastating end. The man, identified as Navjyoti Talukdar, allegedly died by suicide, while his partner, Sushmita Das, is battling for her life in hospital after a suspected suicide attempt.

According to police sources, the couple had been living together for about a year and had been experiencing frequent fights and emotional stress. On Thursday morning, Navjyoti allegedly locked Sushmita inside a room and took his own life. Moments later, Sushmita managed to inform the police before reportedly slashing her wrist.

Police reached the residence immediately, found Navjyoti dead, and sent his body for a post-mortem examination. Sushmita was rushed to Hayat Hospital and remains in critical condition.
