Udalguri reported its first death of COVID-19 on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as a retired teacher of Kalaigaon Amrit Deka.
Deka was admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on July 19 and succumbed to the disease on Friday night.
Meanwhile, six deaths have been reported on Friday taking the state's toll to 76.
