MoS Pabitra Margherita Meets Cambodian King, PM, Senate Head

Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, is currently on a three-day official visit to Cambodia, aimed at reinforcing the longstanding and multi-faceted relationship between the two nations. As part of his diplomatic engagements, the Minister held a series of high-level meetings with Cambodia’s top leadership, including the King Senate President and Prime Minister.

During a courtesy call on His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia, Minister Margherita conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the Government and people of India. He reaffirmed the deep-rooted and historic ties between India and Cambodia, emphasizing the shared cultural heritage that has connected the two civilizations over centuries.

In a separate meeting with Senate President and former Prime Minister Hun Sen, the Minister discussed the strong and special bond between the two countries. Both sides explored avenues to further enhance cooperation in key areas and exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations through robust development partnerships and collaborative solutions to shared challenges.

One of the key highlights of the visit was Minister Margherita’s meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. The leaders held wide-ranging and productive discussions focused on deepening the centuries-old friendship between India and Cambodia. They reiterated their mutual commitment to elevating the bilateral relationship through increased engagement in sectors such as trade, infrastructure, education, and cultural exchange.
