Air Cargo Policy in India Soon: Suresh Prabhu

Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu said that Government will soon bring air cargo policy and will be placed before the cabinet for its approval.

"Air cargo policy will fuel the growth of the aviation sector and boost the country's economy," Prabhu informed.

Talking about the policy, he said that agricultural produce can be sent through air cargo and farmers can sell their produce in other part of the country. The security in aviation sector is global standard but it also needs upgrading, he added.

The Minister also said the sharing of knowledge, ideas and experiences through international events will help to bring in the best of technological solutions to address issues related to security.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said, the security of passengers and airport infrastructure is of utmost important and the contribution of the CISF on this front has been commendable.
