NS Vishwanathan Re-appointed as RBI Dy. Governor

The Centre has extended the post of NS Vishwanathan as Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for one year with effect from July 4.

Vishwanathan'scurrent term at RBI ends on July 3.

Earlier, there were reports that Vishwanathan will get two-year extension after Viral Acharya, another Deputy Governor who quits in June, six months ahead of his scheduled end of the term.

Vishwanathanwas appointed RBI Deputy Governor to replace HR Khan.

Vishwanathanwas Executive Director at Central Bank before he was appointed as DeputyGovernor of RBI.
