Guwahati will get a dedicated 'Post-COVID Hospital' from next week.

The current COVID-19 hospital in Kalapahar is being converted into a facility exclusively for recovered COVID patients who are suffering from complications.

Health Minister Keshab Mahanta visited the facility today to oversee the progress of work done as of yet. He was accompanied by Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) principal Dr Achyut Baishya.

According to the health department, there is an increase in the number of people having medical complications after recovering from COVID-19, after which the decision was taken to covert the COVID hospital to a post-covid hospital.
