AR Rahman, Gulzar to compose HWC 2018 title song

The Odisha government will be collaborating with Oscar winning music director AR Rahman and lyricist Gulzar for composing the title song of Men's Hockey World Cup (HWC) 2018, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik announced.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Patnaik stated that Rahman would perform live in the opening ceremony of the prestigious tournament which is slated to be held in Odisha this year.

"Delighted to announce that India's pride @arrahman is creating official #HWC2018 Song with the legendary #Gulzar Sahab. At the Opening Ceremony of #HWC2018 Rahman will perform it Live, his first performance in Odisha. Let the musical symphony create magic #HeartBeatsForHockey," he wrote.

The 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup is slated to take place in Odisha from November 28 to December 16. Sixteen teams, along with host India, will fight it out for the coveted trophy.
