NCB Arrests Comedian Bharti Singh in Drugs Case

Popular comedian Bharti Singh has been arrested after a round of questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and recovery of drugs from her residence during a raid.

Bharti will be produced before the court on Sunday. Bharti will be kept in custody at the NCB office for tonight, reported India Today.

Both Bharti Singh and her husband have confessed to having consumed cannabis (ganja) apart from the anti-drugs bureau recovering drugs.

NCB on Saturday conducted a raid at the residence of Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh in Mumbai and recovered a small quantity of cannabis from the house.

The search was conducted as part of the ongoing probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) into alleged drug use in the entertainment industry.

The report stated that on Saturday, NCB arrested a 21-year-old drug trafficker in possession of various drugs including LSD in commercial quantity, ganja and nitrazepam (psychotropic medicines) from Khar Danda area.

The NCB said in a statement, "In follow up and in corroboration with previous inputs, NCB raided two places on 21.11.2020 including production office and house of actor-comedian Ms Bharti Singh and from both the places, 86.5 gms of ganja was recovered."

"Both Ms Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya accepted consumption of ganja. Ms Bharti Singh was placed under arrest as per the provisions of NDPS Act 1986 and examination of Shri Harsh Limbachiya is underway," the NCB has said.
