PM Modi’s biopic postponed

Pratidin Bureau

The biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi will miss its schedule date of release April 5 and may hit the screens a day later. However there is no official confirmation regarding the date of release.

The controversy regarding the biopic started after a number of political parties objected to its release after the dates of the Lok Sabha polls were announced in March. They said the release of the biopic before the polls would violate the code of conduct.

The makers are now aiming to come out with the film on April 11, when the first phase of voting for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will begin. However, the report says, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has objections to the alleged promotional content of the film and therefore, there is uncertainty over its final release date.
