Govt to award media houses to encourage YOGA

The BJP-led central government has decided to honour media houses for their contribution towards creating awareness about yoga.

The media houses propagating the idea of "Yoga for Healthy Life" between June 10-25 will be considered for the "Antarashtriya Yog Divas Media Samman", Javadekar said.

According to the minister, a total of 33 awards will be given—11 each for newspapers, TV and radio channels. A six-member jury will consider the entries in all 23 languages. International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on June 21, it was first organised at Rajpath in New Delhi in 2015.
