In a sensational incident, the body of a woman was recovered under mysterious circumstances in Guwahati on Friday, reports said.

According to preliminary reports, the woman's body was recovered from a rented house in the city's Christian Basti locality.

The deceased has been identified as Trishna Kakoti, reports said. She was reportedly residing in the rented house with her live-in partner.

Sources said that her partner identified as Bishnu Deb Koch has been currently apprehended by the Dispur Police.

In connection to the case, Trishna Kakoti's family has alleged that her death was a premeditated murder plot hatched by Bishnu, her lover. Speaking to the media, Trishna's sister said, "My sister has been murdered. Bishnu Deb called me last night and said that our sister has committed suicude. This is hard to believe. There are five girls in our family. We have not been raised with bad virtues. Our sister has been killed has been killed and we want the accused to be punished."

"Bishnu Deb Koch is a married man, and has children too. His family resides in Morigaon, but he tried to establish an illicit relationship with our sister. Trishna had on several occasions asked him to severe ties with his first wife so that they can get married. However, Bishnu did not comply and continued his marriage. A huge fight erupted on this matter last night, and I am sure he killed her," added the sister of the deceased.
