PM to confer Yoga Awards today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to present Yoga Awards in New Delhi today. These awards are conferred to the winners of outstanding contribution towards promotion and development of yoga.

Modi is also slated to release 12 commemorative postal stamps to honour eminent scholars, practitioners and Great Master Healers of AYUSH Systems.

The winners of this award had been announced during the International Yoga Day, 2019 at Ranchi.

Japan Yoga Niketan and Bihar School of Yoga will be awarded in the institutional category while Antonietta Rozzi from Italy and Swami Rajarshi Muni of Life mission in Gujarat in the individual category. Each of them will be felicitated with a Cash Award of 25 lakh rupees, Trophy and a Certificate. 

Ten AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres in Haryana will also be launched today by the PM.

During the event, Prime Minister will also launch ten AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres located  in Haryana, in the same light of Ministry of AYUSH's commitment to make 12, 500 AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres functional in next three years.

These centres are expected to empower the community for self care by imbibing AYUSH based healthy food and lifestyle, social behaviour and use medicinal plants for primary health care.
